E-Governance

With a view to achieve greater transparency in its operation and reducing transaction time and costs to the exporting community, RJDGFT Ludhiana over the last few years has taken many e-governance initiatives. Some of them are outlined in following paragraphs:

·        Maintains its own website

With the launching of its own website rjdgftldh.nic.in on which information relating to Exim Policy and its Procedure is available on a real time basis. The website is both informative and interactive and on-line filing of applications can be made from the website itself. And the exporters can verify the status of their application without visiting this office and wasting time and energy.

·        On line electronic Filing of Applications by Exporters

Request from the exporting community for getting licence/permissions under various export promotion Schemes as outlined in the Exim Policy are  entertained by this office on-line through its website. Processing of these requests is done within 24 hours and the necessary licences/permissions granted the same day. More than 90% of such applications are now being received on-line through the internet. Process of submitting DEPB applications w.e.f. 1.10.2005 for EDI Customs ports, has been entirely automated.

·        Other e-initiatives undertaken

Digital Certificate capability has been introduced as first step to do away with paper base application.

Electronic Payment Gateway for online payment of licence Fee has been implemented. Efforts are underway to make DGFT operations paperless with the introduction of digital signature based operations.

GOAL

·         To Extend quick & transparent services to exporters under various schemes included in the Exim Policy.

·         To assist exporters to reduce transaction time and costs and eliminate intermediaries.

·         To strive to provide value added services to exporters through information, guidance and hand holding.

·         To leverage information and communication technology, in-house expertise and coordination with other agencies to achieve the above objectives.
